Probot
Probot (portmanteau: probe + robot) is a musical project masterminded by Dave Grohl.
On the album, Grohl fulfilled his dream of teaming up with heavy metal vocalists from 1980s and 1990s metal bands who influenced his musical tastes while he was growing up.
Similar to 1995's Foo Fighters, Grohl wrote all of the music and performed most of the instrumentation.
Each track on the album features a different lead singer including Lemmy, Max Cavalera and King Diamond. Some of the singers who contributed to the album did not work directly with Grohl; instead, the tapes were shipped from studio to studio until the album was finished. Grohl approached death metal legend Chuck Schuldiner of Death, who was at the time battling brain cancer, to contribute to the project, and even campaigned to raise funds to help Schuldiner pay his medical bills, but Schuldiner succumbed to the disease before any collaboration could happen.
Grohl also attempted to get Slayer's lead singer Tom Araya on the album, but he was unable to due to scheduling conflicts.[1]
The video for the lead, "Shake Your Blood," features an appearance by 66 women from the SuicideGirls adult entertainment website. In the video, the band is represented with Dave Grohl on drums, Lemmy on lead vocals and bass, and Wino (who sang on the Probot track "The Emerald Law") on lead guitar.
Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil plays additional guitar on Ice Cold Man and Sweet Dreams.
A few minutes before track 11 ends, at 8:56, a hidden track begins, sung by comedian/actor/musician Jack Black.
The album artwork was created by musician Away (Michel Langevin) of Voivod.
It is unclear as to whether Probot will be followed up.
The video of "Shake Your Blood" is ranking the #2 in the list of the best metal videos of the new millennium in a vote carried out by MTV2

The Octodog hot dog shaper
Horrifying!
Quote:
These kitchen gadgets are fun for children and maybe adults alike. Called the Octodog, they can brighten up any kids’ meal or barbeque, making little Octodog-shaped hot dogs.
Take your hot dog, Frankfurter or Wiener, or whatever you want to call it and simply press it into the Octodog and press down and you have the curiously shaped little hotdogs seen on the right hand picture.
If you go the Octodog web site, there are more details as well as a video and even some serving suggestions.
One thing worries me though. Do you do this after they are cooked or before; it’s not clear from the Octodog manufacturer’s website? I think you probably have to insert them when they are hot though, so be careful!! Another thing that concerns me is that our children will want to eat nothing but a diet of nothing but processed “sausage-like” material for a few weeks at least, so you may have to hide them away from time to time!
The Octodogs cost $15 each, but I think that’s a small price to pay for these cool looking gizmos, and I’m sure your kids will love them.

Gwen Verdon ~ The Sign of Leo ~ Mexican Breakfast
It's the "Empire G, The Sign of Leo" version of Gwen Verdon's dance, Mexican Breakfast. Choreographed by Bob Fosse. The dance was filmed for the Ed Sullivan Show in the late 60's. Ms Verdon was in her 40's... and I must say DAMN she looked good!
Gwyneth Evelyn Verdon (January 13, 1925 – October 18, 2000) was an acclaimed Tony Award-winning American dancer and actress, known professionally as Gwen Verdon. Gwen Verdon was considered Broadway's best dancer in the 1950s and '60s. Known especially for her impudent verve and flaming red hair, Verdon won four Tony awards during the 1950s and was nominated twice more after that. Among her best-known roles were the seductive Lola in Damn Yankees (1955) and the title role in Sweet Charity (1966). Verdon had a lengthy, stormy marriage to director and choreographer Bob Fosse; their relationship was depicted in part in his movie All That Jazz (1979). Her last major Broadway role was that of Roxie Hart in Fosse's 1975 musical Chicago. In later years Verdon had roles in various movies and made guest appearances on many TV series.
Click the title and you can find Gwen Verdon performing the Bob Fosse-choreographed routine on the Ed Sullivan show, to Unk’s 2006 crunkular odyssey, “Walk it Out.” And also the routine with the original music.

What Your Handwriting Says About You |
You are a fairly energetic person. You know how do pace yourself, and you deal well with stress. You are somewhat outgoing, but you're not a natural extrovert. You think first before you act. You tend to be independent, rational, and logical. You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others. You need a bit of space in your life, but you're not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well. You are somewhat traditional, but you are also open to change. You listen to your head and your heart. You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous. |
You Don't Need a Partner, but You Want One! |
You like having a partner in your life, and overall, you prefer not to be single. You won't go out with anyone out of desperation.. you'd rather be alone. However, when you're single, you do tend to obsess a little over dating. Because no matter how good your single life is, it's better with a great partner around. |
You Are Not Prissy |
You're the furthest thing from a princess - and you probably stay far away from any princess types you know. You have an easygoing approach to living. It doesn't take a lot to make you happy. And when life requires it, you're ready to get your hand a little dirty. There's no problem you're too prissy to tackle! |
Your Birthdate: June 21 |
You are certain and confident when you choose to love someone. Even though your romantic choices may be unconventional - you stand behind them. Your friends never know you as well as a romantic partner does. You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change. You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard. |
Hah I like the picture that goes with this one
You and Your Mom Are Completely Different |
At times, it seems like you and your mom aren't even related. You often wonder how two people from the same family can be so different. As the saying goes... you can pick your friends, but not your relatives. |
The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free. In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved. You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring. You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic. Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with. Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it. In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You're secure, trusting, and giving with friends and lovers And while you may have been hurt before, you've bounced back You're generally happy with your life - and no one's grass is greener than yours One word of caution: some may see your lack of jealousy as indifference! |
What Your Latte Says About You |
You don't treat yourself very often. You find that indulging doesn't jibe with your very disciplined life. You can be quite silly at times, but you know when to buckle down and be serious. You have a good deal of energy, but you pace yourself. You never burn out too fast. You're addicted to caffeine. There's no denying it. You are responsible, mature, and truly an adult. You're occasionally playful, but you find it hard to be carefree. You are expressive and friendly, but you are never pushy. |
Yes!
You Are 28 Years Old |
Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. |
LOL Really I had NO idea... /sarcasm off
Your Ex is Narcissistic |
Your ex thinks they're the most important person in the world and couldn't care less about anyone else. Your ex definitely has a god complex. People with narcissistic personality disorder want total power, lack empathy, and are very arrogant. Sound at all familiar? |
OHHH so that's what I did wrong the last 5 times!
Never Date a Virgo |
Demanding, picky, and a total perfectionist - there's no way you want to live up to Virgo's standards. It's not that you couldn't please a Virgo... you would just hate yourself for doing it. Instead try dating: Libra, Leo, Aquarius, or Aries |
Haha I think I might be somewhat insulted by this!
You Are A Professional Girlfriend! |
You are the perfect girlfriend - big surprise! Heaven knows you've had enough practice. That's why you're a total pro. If there was an Emily Post of girlfriends, it would be you. You know how to act in every situation ... to make both you and your guy happy. |
Hmmm
Your True Love Is a Libra |
Why you'll love a Libra: Social and charming, a Libra is sure to turn your head in a group setting. Libra has the style and grace to intrigue you... and the passionate soul to reel you in. Why a Libra will love you: You're laid back and patient. Libra doesn't feel rushed to make a decision with you. An appreciator of beauty, you can show Libra all sorts of inspiration - from art to nature. |
Like I say, I may be up all day but that doesn't mean I'm awake!
You Are a Night Person |
For you, there's nothing worse than having to get up and moving early. In fact, you probably don't hit your peak until well after the sun has set. So if your struggling to make it on a normal schedule, realize it's not your fault. You just weren't meant to do anything during the day! |
Violet is 1 N away from Violent... that's an inside joke :)
Your Psyche is Violet |
You are spiritual, intuitive, and serene. People trust you to rescue them from bad situations, and you usually come through. While you are quite enlightened, you find that your path is very lonely. When you are too violet: you can't connect to ordinary life or ordinary people When you don't have enough violet: you lack wisdom and can't learn from the past |
Haha tell me something I don't know ;p
Your Family Is 74% Dysfunctional |
Your family definitely has some major problems, and they're still effecting you today. It's time for you to step back, reassess, and decide what kind of role your family should have in your life. The people around you can be toxic, and there's no reason to let your family bring you down. Consider getting some therapy or talking the situation over with a good friend. And spend more time around people who truly care for you! |

I recently found out that I have a Fear of having Fears.
Phobophobia. I think that is very funny. AND it explains why I go out of my way to conquer all my fears and to be fearless. I have always been a tomboy and a daredevil. Always trying to prove to myself that I am NOT afraid of anything. Even if I'm terrified.
Right now I am trying to conquer a new fear. Philophobia- Fear of falling in love or being in love. It seems that I have a few more fears than I'd like to admit. I'm hoping with a little self-analysis I can conquer this fear pretty quickly.
I wonder why I don't have a fear of psychopathic, narcissistic, sociopathic, crap-piles walking around disguised as people. That would make more sense to me. :D

Happy 2007!
My parents were out late last night gambling and celebrating and when I stumbled downstairs at 7:00 am they were on their way out the door again. Guess Dad is on a hot streak and they are trying to get enough money together to buy a new Lexus. Mom wants a Lexus before she dies. And her thinking is that since she might not live too long they better get busy on it. Can't say as I find fault with that thinking and since she does have breast/lung cancer it's true that she might die soon. But, I have this feeling she'll live to be 90 if not longer. As my sister says, Evil never dies. Not that mom is evil incarnate exactly, she's just evil enough to live to be 90.
My sons spent the weekend in Atlanta with my sister and her kids. They have fun over there, lots of people and things to do. So it was just me at the house last night. I was too down and depressed to play EQ2 or even read. Which is pretty damn down. No particular reason for it. Just couldn't get enough energy up to open my eyes and face life I guess.
Right before Mom left the house this morning she started rambling about getting her poodles groomed. It seems she has this theory that nothing can be done because Pres. George W Bush has extended Pres. Ford's funeral and viewing for a couple days because of the holidays. In my Mom's mind this translates into the fact that dog groomers will have extra days off. I have NO idea how you get these 2 thoughts to reconcile to each other but she does. As I was standing there slugging back my coffee listening to her ramble on about it, it just seemed to prove that I really do live in the freaking twilight zone.
This morning I started reading a book so I must be feeling a bit better. Not that laying in bed reading a book is the epitomy of being energized and full of life. It's just that much better than laying in bed not reading a book. I even managed to feed the sea monkeys. Sea monkeys are just about the perfect pet. I highly recommend them. I like my birds and the fish are cool. Mom's poodles are a pain in the ass, even though the kids seem to enjoy them. But, for easy maintenance vs. entertainment value sea monkeys win hands down.
Well I'm going back to my book. Who knows I might even get up later and do something exciting, like the laundry, or clean the bathrooms, hell I might go really wild and shampoo the carpets! We'll just have to wait and see. Life is what you make it and well life in BFE Mississippi is not that much different than life anywhere else, really, just a whole lot less going on.
(after thinking about it I figured out what the hell my problem is... I'm homesick. I want to go home, not to the 'home' where my family is, but my real home. Just like Dorothy, except without the red shiny shoes.
I really really do not belong in Mississippi or anywhere near here. I'm trying and there are some good things about being here but I miss Washington, I miss Seattle, I miss Bellingham, I miss Sedro-Woolley, hell I even miss Mount Vernon. I miss knowing where things are, I miss the Sound, the mountains, the rain, the cold gray skies, I miss Jack-in-the-Box, I miss the Skagit River, Mount Baker, Hwy 20, Chuckanut Dr. I miss my friends most of all.
I've moved tons of times. I have lived all over the country but I lived in WA the longest and I guess it got in me. Even when I was a kid I didn't get homesick. Well that's not a surprise really. When I was shipped off to various people for months at a time, I was THANKFUL to not be at home. Most of the time I didn't even know where I was or the people that I was staying with. And that was just fine and dandy with me.
Oh well I keep telling myself, this too shall pass. And I know it will. I am determined that my boys will be happy, healthy and safe so it's worth it to be here for them. It's just sometimes, I really really want to go home.)
