Only the good die young
One of my Dad's best friends and a friend of mine was killed a day ago. They couldn't find his body until late last night.
He was at a 4th of July picnic and sleepover-conference with business associates and friends at a lake house. Early in the morning the house went up in flames. Everyone got out except 1 man, my dad's friend went back in to try to get the man out. Right when he re-entered the house it exploded. The cops suspect arson. So really he wasn't killed, he was murdered.
He died a good death.
His name was Bill, he was 57. Had a wife, daughters and grand-babies. I knew him almost my whole life. He was a friend of mine, not just a friend of my family.
We will all miss him. We are all devastated.

Then we went back to Atlanta for the 4th and we went downtown with about 1 million other people to watch the big display but we got rained out. It was not just rain exactly it was a torrential downpour that started about 45 minutes before the fireworks were scheduled to go off. I don't have any pictures of that part though I was too busy trying to get kids and myself warm and dry and I was shivering too hard to hold my camera steady.
