This is so true!
“If feelings were food, adult feelings would be things like chocolate-covered steak, mashed potatoes with pineapple bits, Special K with chili powder sprinkled on it instead of sugar. Like some weird déjà vu, came that recurring sense of adulthood’s strange contradictions: a world where you could order blackberry meatloaf or eggs fried in lemon-juice” - Stephen King, Gerald’s Game
Yes this is a repost but I'm having a twilight zone, deja vu sort of week :)

What's your inner power?

Empathy- Your inner power is Empathy! This means that you have a talent for identifying others emotions, often by simply glancing at them. You are EXTREMELY shy and quiet. People sometimes dont notice youre around and seem surprised to find out you even exist in a big class. Youre the often silent, goody two shoes, and few get passed the walls youve built up to stop yourself being hurt, as you no doubt have been in the past. Not everyone understands you, in fact some think that youre a snob or worse because you rarely participate in group activities. Youre extremely sensitive, even the least harsh of words can hurt you. Only your very few, closest friends who have earned your hard-to-get trust know who you really are inside; a sweet, gentle young woman who is lonely and so desperately needing friends to support you. You can get very depressed and not always know why, despite your power of empathy, as it seems to only work for people outside you. Your friends always turn to you when they need advice or comforting, and in some way you need to give that helpit makes you feel better in return to know that youve helped out your friends. Despite your cold, impassive exterior and high, seemingly unbreachable walls, inside you are really a great, intelligent person, full of compassion and love, if only people would dare take a chance and try to get through your tough shell. Never let others get you down, or change you. You are very special the way you areeven if you dont have fifty thousand friends, you are just as, if not more extraordinary than everyone else. Reach for the stars, because I dont doubt youll catch hold of them. Boy/Girl who will sweep you off your feet: A sweet, shy and romantic man/woman. The kind of guy/woman you know will never, ever hurt you, and will love you for ever. The kind of person who believes in true love, and soul mates. Your stone: Blue Topaz Your power: Healing. Emotionally, physically, or spiritually, you heal people with your words, your actions and presence. Youre the one that the little children are always drawn to, because they know youll never let anything hurt them. Your element: Clairvoyance (The power to see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the normal five senses.) A quote that applies to you: "True beauty shines from the soul and warms the world with its kindness, compassion , and integrity."

Eight Random Things (for Susan)

1. I've been married 2 times but divorced 3 times.
2. I died when I was 8, one week before Christmas. I had a really bad asthma attack, went cyanotic (turning blue because of lack of oxygen in the blood) and died. Yes I do remember it.
3. I have moved over 30 times.
4. I've hiked most of the Appalachian, Pacific Crest and Continental Divide Trails.
5. My favorite color is gray. But I love all things shiny. I'm absolutely addicted to shiny things.
6. I am afraid of 4 things: spiders, rats, fear and falling in love.
7. When I was 5 I broke my arm by falling off monkey bars. At the time I fell I was running over the top of the bars, "look no hands!".
8. I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up.

FYI (mostly for men....)
Scientists reviewed decades of studies on penis size and self-image. Findings: 1) Average erection is 5.5 to 6.2 inches. 2) Twice as many men think their penises are above average in length as think they're below average. 3) Meanwhile, 90 percent of women care more about width than length, and women don't care that much about size in general. 4) While only 55 percent of men are satisfied with the size they're delivering, 85 percent of women are satisfied with the size they're getting. 5) To lengthen their penises, some men "use weights" and others "encourage poisonous snakes to bite their penises to enlarge them for six months," while others "pierce the glans of their penis and insert items into the holes to stimulate their partner." 6) The evidence for "penile extenders" is "poorly documented."

The Summer Redneck Games
East Dublin, GA, USA
July 7, 2007
events include the cigarette flip, the mudpit belly flop, bobbing for pigs feet, the big hair contest, the hubcap hurl, the seed spitting contest, bug zapper spitball, dumpster diving, and everyone's favorite, the armpit serenade. "That's when you cup your hand under your armpit and make farting noises," Davis says. "But people down here have taken it a step further and can play tunes."
A fixture at this annual event is a fellow by the name of L-Bow, a local asphalt technician who doesn't have any teeth. In his soiled bib-overalls, smelly T-shirt, and ragged old shoes, L-Bow is the perfect mascot for the Summer Redneck Games, which means he's the official torch-bearer. Of this honor, he sheepishly admits, "I got the big kiss and swole all up with pride." With a propane torch adorned with the aluminum from a 6-pack of Budweiser, L-Bow parades the athletes into the arena (a field) and lights the Ceremonial BBQ Grill. "Let the gas begin!" he hollers.
The event has raised some controversy over the years. Some locals have come forward saying they think the term is derogatory. Even some of the "wine and cheese crowd" have come forward, believing the event is degrading. "You know what," L-Bow says, "Everybody has a little bit of redneck in them. A redneck is anyone who works hard for every penny they get. It's the one time a year hard-working country folk in these parts can be proud of who they are and have a little fun." But don't think L-Bow is getting sentimental. "I got my own little creed about rednecks," he says. "We work hard, we play hard, and we die broke." Gentlemen...put on your beer goggles and start your riding lawn mowers. Admission is $5 per carload, so pack 'em in.

Good old-fashioned Southern Rock
SHINEDOWN LYRICS
"Save Me"
I got a candle
And I've got a spoon
I live in a hallway with no doors
And no rooms
Under a windowsill
They all were found
A touch of concrete within the doorway
Without a sound
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland
How did I get here
And what went wrong
Couldn't handle forgiveness
Now I'm far beyond gone
I can hardly remember
The look of my own eyes
How can I love this a life so dishonest
It made me compromise
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland
Jump in the water
Jump in with me
Jump on the altar
Lay down with me
The hardest question to answer
Is why
Why
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland
Someone save me
Someone save me
Somebody save me
Somebody save me
Please don't erase me

Ok I was tagged by Pete and it took me awhile but here are my answers :)
All about Me me (well some about me anyway)
1.What was the name of the teacher that was most influential in your life from grades K through 6? This is sad but I don't remember ANY of my teachers' names. We moved so often and I went to so many different schools during this time it all just blended together. But, I do think that my Spanish teacher in first grade had a huge impact. I learned to really love languages and she helped me speak out loud when I couldn't in my native language.
2.Did you argue with teachers? Haha no. You would have to be able to verbalize to do this. I was the quiet type. In fact I was mute until well into my 7th year of schooling.
3.What subject did you favour in high school? History! I love history. It was almost too good to be true that it was actually a school class. I was always thinking that it was too much fun to be included as school :)
4.Did you attend a university and if so, did you attain a degree? Yes and no. My haphazard approach to primary schooling carried over into my university studies. I moved around a lot and studied tons of different things but nothing enough to equal a degree.
5.Do you learn best through books, by watching, or hands-on? Hands-on definitely although I can do it through books or by watching it's just slightly harder.
6.Has education been an ongoing process for you? Haha everyday is an education. I am always learning and wanting to learn. I can't imagine NOT wanting to learn. So the answer to this is a resounding Yes!
7.What seven people are you tagging to do this?
I'll have to get back about this part ;)

Bubba Ludwig
Illinois baby obtains gun permit
Bubba Ludwig may only be 10 months old, but he has already successfully obtained a gun licence in the US state of Illinois.
Bubba's father, Howard Ludwig, applied on his behalf after his grandfather gave him a shotgun as an heirloom.
Mr Ludwig said he had not expected to succeed, but he filled in the online form, paid $5 and the licence was his.
US gun laws are regularly the subject of fierce debate, renewed recently after April's Virginia Tech killings.
Gunman Cho Seung-hui was able to exploit a loophole in Virginia state law and obtain weapons despite having a history of mental illness. The loophole was later closed.
Technical problems
The licence includes a picture of a toothless Bubba and a squiggle that represents his best attempt at a signature.
It makes an adorable addition to his baby book
Howard Ludwig
In an article in the Chicago Sun-Times, Mr Ludwig, 30, said that he expected the application to be turned down.
Two rejections did in fact come, he said, but both related to technical problems - on one application he forgot to tick a box stating his son was a US citizen - rather than Bubba's youth.
His third attempt was rewarded with a state firearm owner's identification card (FOID), complete with details of Bubba's height, weight and date of birth.
'No age restrictions'
Illinois gun laws are said to be among the strictest in the US.
But Illinois State Police, who oversee the application process, said that they had followed the law in this case.
"Does a 10-month-old need a FOID card? No, but there are no restrictions under the act regarding age of applicants," the Associated Press news agency quoted Lt Scott Compton as saying.
Mr Ludwig said Bubba's gun would likely remain at his grandfather's house until he was 14.
"I'm not about to approve any unsupervised hunting or trap shooting for Bubba," he wrote in the Chicago daily.
"Still, I'm glad he was able to get his FOID card. It makes an adorable addition to his baby book."

What Mythological Creature are you?
You scored as Dragon.
Dragon: Now talk about a legend. These magnificent creatures are of many species. Some can be as large as the Earth itself, while others are as small as a mouse. One image that comes to everyone's mind is the large, fire breathing Dragons that loathed humans and loved to sleep on massive piles of gold. Not all dragons have a bad reputation. Most dragons are very wise, caring, and protective. It would make a person very lucky indeed to meet a dragon. Especially if they walked away untouched. I admire your wisdom, for you are the Ancient Dragon.
Dragon 100%
Mermaid 75%
Faerie 75%
Angel 75%
WereWolf 50%
Demon 50%
