Bonobo

Bonobo (pygmy chimpanzee) is a great ape species belonging to a genus Pan. Though they look like chimpanzees, they have a bit more slender body and longer arms and legs.

They were first identified as new species in 1920's. Bonobo's live near the Congo River in central Africa. Man used to call the bonobo 'little chimp'. They have enough differences from the chimpanzee to be 'their own species' though. Bonobo's are very intelligent man-apes, for example, they have a sense of time, as in knowing the difference between yesterday, the present and tomorrow, don't look for that in your dog :-) (Source: Discovery Channel)
