Translating old sayings into common speech

THEY SAID: If you were born to be shot, you'll never drown.

WE SAY: Don't worry about things you can't change.


I'm partial to that one. :) I'm going to try to incorporate it into my lingo.

I might have to displace one of the odd sayings already in my head. I hope it will displace this one... "Wish in one hand and sh*t in the other, see what you end up with.." That one was courtesy of my dear departed grandpa.
