A documentary filmmaker looks into the case of a woman from Yorkshire supposedly abducted by aliens. He interviews the woman's husband, Bill, who witnessed the abduction. However some of the locals claim that Betty, a bingo enthusiast, actually ran off with Tommy Scruffleby, the local bingo caller.

I caught this on late night tv in the UK. Tonnes of these little shorts get made all year and never even noticed by anyone unless they are looking for it or stumble upon it. I fall within the former category and I'm glad I did. First off, this is very cheap - the space ship IS the underside of a baking tray, the direction IS very handheld and the majority of it is shot inside someone's home or on the hills. However it carries itself with an very Northern humour to it that really saves the film.

The actual plot is weak and the conclusion isn't up to much but it is still amusing considering. This is mainly due to the writing and the deadpan Northern delivery of Dennis Drury. He is the main voice of the piece and he works well with Wright's cynical documentary maker.

Overall this is a very cheaply made film but it has an amusing script and is well delivered. It won't win many awards for best short - but it made me laugh and that's all I wanted it to do at the time. So it worked for me.
